Sounds of Saturday
Weigh in today - I lost 900 grams which brings me to a total loss of 7.9 kilos. I'm very happy with that, especially as I was unsure of whether or not there would be a loss this week. I was doing just fine ,avoiding all temptation ,until the girls got home. Their open eggs in the fridge proved just a bit too tempting for me. Still, my eating bahaviours have certainly improved from previous years. I did try to control the amount I had and exercised consistently. I was worried because it seems I have 2 weeks per month in which I register 'big' losses of about a kilo or more, and then this is followed by two weeks of much smaller losses. I've had to get my head around the fact that this ok, a loss is a loss is a loss is a loss... (if I were in the classroom I'd ask if anybody knew the allusion there...)
To celebrate my loss and the fact that I found a pair of size 18 jeans in the wardrobe that fit me, I took myself off to Leichardt to the movies. I saw Micmac, which is the latest film by the writer/director of Amelie. It was entertaining enough, but no where near as good as Amelie. He copied some of the quirkiness of Amelie, which I believe was probably a mistake as it will earn poor comparisons. Normally, when seeing a movie in Leichardt I would have one of their delicious Serendipity choc-tops. But not today. The new me wasn't even tempted, considering them to be too high in points to have at this stage of the journey and especially after Easter. I got myself a skim flat white ( I love a cinema that you can take a proper coffee in to) and ended up buying some lollies as I figured they would be a better choice. I ate some during the film and threw the rest away on the walk back to the car afterwards. Can you believe it! I didn't want them, and suspected if I got bored on the long drive back to the mountains I would probably eat them. They were mostly the chocolate ones, too. I had eaten the bananas and strawberries and creams, counted it as 3 points and sat in a park to eat my packed lunch of a ham and WW cheese sandwich.
This morning I did 20 minutes of yoga and after Mark came to get the girls I zipped up to the newsagency to get the Herald for the free Art of Walking DVD. The dvd follows three people walking the Great Ocean walk in Victoria. I've had it in my head for a few weeks now, since reading a post on the WW boards, that I would like to do this wallk when I get to goal so it was timely that the Herald had this giveaway. I walked on my treadmill while watching it and the 45 minutes zoomed by. It certainly looks like something that would challenge me, but also open my eyes. So, now what is needed is a training plan. Not so much to lose weight but to get me fit enough to be able to do this walk. Losing the weight is obviously part of it, but I'll need to increase my strength and endurance.
Gosh I'm looking forward to my new life!

ReplyDeleteI also lost 900g this week. That's a first for any Easter! It's great to be 'in the right zone' mentally isn't it?
Keep on going. You're doing a great job.
